(Last Updated On: September 16, 2022)

Now that you have a gas grill, you need some basic BBQ tools if you are planning a serious trek down the barbeque road.

These days, manufacturers are trying to outdo each other in producing durable and functional top quality tools and equipment that can help you achieve your goal of serving your family and friends the world’s most mouth-watering BBQ recipes.

If you’re a barbeque beginner, you could visit BBQ shops that sell complete lines of tool sets. But at some point, you’ll know exactly what tools you need and how to use them.

If you start out with a packaged set of BBQ tools, don’t go overboard because you’re definitely going to want to zero in on items that you’ve developed a preference for. In other words, don’t blow your budget until you know what you really want.

There are some factors to consider in buying BBQ tools, and this could include the quality of the tools and equipment, the designs, colors and styles, and your budget.

If you can afford it, you can buy all the tools available before you start your adventure into the world of barbequing. But if you don’t have the budget for a one-time shopping spree, you can buy one or two tools at a time, beginning with the most necessary until you complete your set of BBQ tools.

Here are some of the basic BBQ tools you’ll need:

Tongs, particularly the kind made from stainless steel should never be missing from your BBQ toolset. It is necessary for flipping over chops, steaks, burgers, fish, meat, and what have you. Tongs are easy to store when not in use.

A spatula is one important tool that helps you come up with a delicious grilled meal. Choose spatulas with long handles to keep you safe from the heat.

Barbeque forks

The market is literally swarmed with BBQ forks designed for convenient use.

BBQ Mop or Sop Brushes

Whether you want to Mop or Sop, brushing sauce on your barbeque while it is grilling completes the essence of barbequing. That’s why you need brushes of different sizes to use on the different kinds of meat or food you are going to grill.

Grill Brush

You need to keep your grill clean. The simplest way to do that is to use a grill brush after each use. Make sure you get one with a long handle because it’s easiest to clean when the grill is hot.

Branding Irons

Don’t let anyone wonder who grilled a steak. This certainly isn’t a necessity but the vanity of some may require each piece of meat be branded with their initial.

The built-in thermometers on most grills and smokers aren’t very accurate. It’s best to get a stand-alone thermometer that you can set on the grilling surface to monitor the temperature at the cooking level.¬†

The other thing you may want is a meat thermometer with a long flexible lead so you can stick the probe in the meat and have the display sitting on your prep table.

Meat Hooks & Turners

Turners that are made of stainless steel with easy rubber grips is the ideal choice for flipping over delicate fish, steaks, sausages, beef, or whatever kind of meat you are barbequing. Go for turners that are long and large so you could flip or scoop several items at a time.

Rib and Roast Racks

Some grills and smokers have very limited space. To maximize this, you have to think vertically and the way to do that is to get a rack. Ribs can be mounted on their sides instead of flat, and they can also be snaked in round kettle grills, etc. These can really help you fit more food in your grill or smoker.

BBQ tools are available in BBQ shops, your local hardware, local home improvement center, or online. If you don’t have the luxury of time to go out, you can shop for tools and equipment from the comfort of your home using the internet.

Online shopping will give you the chance to browse through several products, compare prices and your orders will be delivered right at your doorstep. Remember, the world’s best-tasting barbeque won’t be possible without the right BBQ tools!
